Mixed-Use

Over the past 25 years, Daniel P. Coffey & Associates, Ltd., the 2003 AIA Chicago Architecture Firm of the Year, has developed a reputation for high quality, innovative work in a variety of complex and diverse areas of architecture and design. These often include projects that contain multiple often distinct, occasionally conflicting functions. Examples include projects that combine two or more use types such as residential, hotel, office, retail, performing arts, educational, transit and parking uses on a common site or in a single building.

A characteristic of mixed use development is the careful study and separation of entrances and interior circulation path of each use in the project. Additionally, the careful planning of building systems and their controls for separation of billing, service and ownership requires special expertise.
