Germania Place

Acquired by a large East Coast Real Estate company, the city of Chicago decided to Landmark the 1880’s former “social club” building. The building was modestly renovated in the 1980’s when the club ceased activity. The interior of the building is generally under utilized and deteriorated. As tenants turn over, the intention is to modify non-historic interior spaces and sensitively insert mezzanines into the larger spaces to enhance retail flexibility and uses. The exterior will be restored and kept generally unchanged as ADA access and upgrades of exiting and building systems are undertaken. All aspects are being carefully discussed with city landmarks staff.
