Carolina Theatre - Greensboro, NC

The 1200-seat Carolina Theater was built in 1927 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The project included restoration of the exterior facade and marquee as well as the thorough renovation of the Auditorium, the replacement of the Stage and an expansion of the Wing Space.  The project also included the reconfiguration of Dressing Rooms and back-of-house production support spaces. New Function Rooms, Box Office and Administrative Offices were also created and the Lobby, Concessions and Toilets expanded.  HVAC, Electrical, Sound, Lighting, and Rigging systems were completely replaced. The Carolina Theater is a Rental House with significant Community Use. A key feature was the addition of a pair of glass enclosed stair and elevator towers that add character and contain vertical signs, These also link together the theater and the long empty space that existed on several levels above the street entrance lobby level.
